The 10x Secret: How the Pascal Cable Turns a Safe 5 Amps into Mind-Blowing Electromagnetism!
Hello! I’m Kuwako Ken, your Science Trainer. Every day is an experiment!
“Electricity” and “Magnetism.” Do you remember the familiar “Right-Hand Screw Rule” or “Fleming’s Left-Hand Rule” from your science classes?
They are textbook staples, but the reality is that when you actually try the experiments, the compass needle only moves a “little bit,” or the wire only “barely” twitches. Frankly, it’s hard to experience the kind of dramatic power that leaves you truly impressed. This is because the world of electricity and magnetism often deals with subtle and weak forces.
But what if you could safely experience the “high-impact” electromagnetic phenomena of a massive current of tens of amperes, all while using the safe, standard power supply (around a few amperes) found in a school lab? Today, I want to introduce you to the magic experimental tool, the “Pascal Cable,” and the secret behind its astonishing “10x Power”!
⚠️ The Electromagnetism Experiment Dilemma
The discovery that electricity creates magnetism (Oersted’s discovery) and that an electric current experiences a force in a magnetic field (Fleming’s Law) are the fundamental principles that power modern motors and generators. However, to make this force clearly visible and impactful, you typically need a high current of “tens of amperes”—enough to trip a household circuit breaker. In school labs, we are usually limited to about 5 amperes. This weak current makes it difficult to conduct experiments that are visually compelling and easy to understand.
The “Pascal Cable” solves this long-standing dilemma with an ingenious idea.
The “Pascal Cable (S-cable)” is the world’s only teaching tool that allows you to experience all the electromagnetic phenomena, starting from Oersted’s great discovery, easily, safely, and affordably in your hands.
🤫 The “10-Wire” Secret: Safely Generating 10x the Force
Using the Pascal Cable, you can generate a powerful magnetic field equivalent to a “50-ampere” current, simply by sending a 5-ampere current from a power supply. You might think, “Isn’t that dangerous?” but the key point is “it acts like,” meaning the current actually flowing is still only 5 amperes. That’s why it is perfectly safe!
“I don’t understand what you’re saying!” you might be thinking (laughs).
The secret lies in the cable’s structure. While the Pascal Cable looks like a single, thick wire, it actually contains “10” thin conductors inside! I immediately ordered the cable online. Wires that can be used to make the Pascal Cable, such as Fujidenkogyo VCTF 0.3sq x 10 Core, can be bought on Amazon.

Inside, you can see these 10 wires. We solder them together by changing the color combinations.

These 10 wires are carefully soldered together so that the current entering the positive (+) terminal travels through the 10 wires in series (connecting one wire to the next, 10 times) before exiting the negative (-) terminal. The key point is to “combine the force of 10 wires.”
(Note: Please check the official website for the exact structure. The important thing is that the current flows through the equivalent of 10 conductors, and the magnetic fields created by each conductor are “superimposed” or added together!)

This is what it looks like.
If the magnetic field created by 3 amperes in a single wire is “1,” the Pascal Cable creates the same condition as if “3 amperes were flowing in each of 10 separate wires”—all within that one thick cable. Therefore, the magnetic field (and the resulting force) is simply 10 times stronger! Instead of using brute force with “high current,” this smart idea of “superimposing the force of 10 wires” achieves a safe, yet powerful, experiment.
⚛️ Relive Scientific History with a Bang!
Using the Pascal Cable brings experiments that were previously confined to textbooks vividly to life right before your eyes.
Experiment 1: Magnetic Field Created by Current (Oersted’s Experiment)

This image shows the magnetic field created around the conductor. The current from the power supply is only 3 amperes. However, thanks to the Pascal Cable’s “10x Power,” you can see the compass needle forcefully “SNAP!” and change direction, as if a massive 30-ampere current were flowing! With this, everyone can clearly confirm the moment “electricity creates magnetism.”
Experiment 2: Force on a Current in a Magnetic Field (Fleming’s Left-Hand Rule)

This is the setup for Fleming’s Left-Hand Rule experiment. The Pascal Cable is hung loosely between the poles of a U-shaped magnet. The moment the current flows (when the switch is turned on)…

The wire can be seen jerking forcefully! It is a moment where you can literally “feel” the force! This is the fundamental model of a motor. In this way, the Pascal Cable is a wonderful teaching material that allows you to experience the invisible wonders of “electricity” and “magnetism” safely and dynamically.
