Pero \u00bfy si detr\u00e1s de esta fina l\u00e1mina que usamos sin pensar hubiera un mecanismo magn\u00e9tico mucho m\u00e1s interesante de lo que imaginamos? \u00bfNo ser\u00eda sorprendente? En una ocasi\u00f3n hice un experimento con una de estas l\u00e1minas magn\u00e9ticas que suelen dejar en los buzones, y los alumnos se quedaron fascinados, exclamando: \u00ab\u00a1\u00bfPero por qu\u00e9?! \u00a1\u00bfPor qu\u00e9?!\u00bb. Por ejemplo, esas l\u00e1minas publicitarias que las empresas de reparaci\u00f3n de fugas de agua dejan en los buzones. Colocad dos de estas l\u00e1minas una sobre otra e intentad tirar de una de ellas. <b>Notar\u00e9is una curiosa resistencia, como una especie de \u00abtraqueteo\u00bb<\/b> que se siente claramente en la mano.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 solo una de las caras tiene fuerza magn\u00e9tica?<\/h3>\n<p>Esto me recuerda a una ocasi\u00f3n en la que visit\u00e9 el laboratorio (en realidad, su propia casa) del profesor Eiji Komori. Pero entonces, \u00bfc\u00f3mo est\u00e1n distribuidos los polos magn\u00e9ticos en su interior? Si lo pensamos de forma sencilla, todo im\u00e1n tiene necesariamente un polo N y un polo S. Por eso, parecer\u00eda l\u00f3gico que las l\u00edneas de campo magn\u00e9tico salieran por ambos lados y que las dos caras pudieran adherirse. <b>As\u00ed que decidimos espolvorear limaduras de hierro\u2026 \u00a1y apareci\u00f3 un patr\u00f3n realmente sorprendente!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23981 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/ab428ddf29eef35f731bc344875cccf6.png\" alt=\"Captura de pantalla 2016-01-25 7.09.07\" width=\"530\" height=\"466\" srcset=\"https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/ab428ddf29eef35f731bc344875cccf6.png 469w, https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/ab428ddf29eef35f731bc344875cccf6-300x264.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hoy os voy a ense\u00f1ar un experimento sencillo con el que podr\u00e9is descubrir y disfrutar de este curioso patr\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h3>La receta cient\u00edfica<\/h3>\n<h3>Materiales<\/h3>\n<p>Una l\u00e1mina magn\u00e9tica publicitaria de las que suelen dejar en los buzones (tambi\u00e9n pod\u00e9is comprar una), limaduras de hierro y un recipiente peque\u00f1o, como un estuche de pel\u00edcula fotogr\u00e1fica.<\/p>\n<h3>Procedimiento<\/h3>\n<p>\u2460 Haced varios agujeros en la tapa del recipiente con un punz\u00f3n u objeto similar y colocad las limaduras de hierro dentro del recipiente. \u00a1Ya tenemos nuestro \u00abespolvoreador de limaduras\u00bb!<\/p>\n<p>\u2461 <span style=\"line-height: 1.8em;\">Espolvoread las limaduras de hierro sobre la l\u00e1mina magn\u00e9tica y observad qu\u00e9 ocurre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2462 Colocad dos l\u00e1minas magn\u00e9ticas una sobre otra, perfectamente horizontales, y tirad de una de ellas en direcci\u00f3n horizontal. Cambiad la orientaci\u00f3n de las l\u00e1minas y comprobad c\u00f3mo cambia la resistencia que sent\u00eds.<\/p>\n<h3>El resultado y el secreto de las franjas ocultas<\/h3>\n<p>Al espolvorear las limaduras de hierro como hemos hecho en el paso \u2461, aparece un patr\u00f3n como este.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-32629 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/low_IMG_1248.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"721\" height=\"540\" srcset=\"https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/low_IMG_1248.jpg 800w, https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/low_IMG_1248-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/low_IMG_1248-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 721px) 100vw, 721px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Exactamente: aparecen estas <b>franjas<\/b>. \u00a1Es realmente curioso! Si hacemos lo mismo con la cara posterior, veremos que las limaduras pr\u00e1cticamente no se adhieren porque all\u00ed casi no hay fuerza magn\u00e9tica. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 aparece este patr\u00f3n? Todo parece indicar que <b>los polos N y S est\u00e1n dispuestos alternativamente formando estrechas bandas, como si una fila de peque\u00f1os imanes en forma de U estuviera colocada uno al lado del otro<\/b>. Gracias a esta estructura, las l\u00edneas de campo magn\u00e9tico salen principalmente por una sola cara, por lo que en la cara posterior apenas act\u00faa la fuerza magn\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n<p>Al realizar el experimento del paso \u2462, cuando colocamos las l\u00e1minas en determinada orientaci\u00f3n y tiramos de una de ellas, sentimos en la mano un curioso \u00abtraqueteo\u00bb. Esto ocurre porque los polos N y S est\u00e1n dispuestos alternativamente siguiendo las franjas, de modo que las zonas donde los imanes se atraen y las zonas donde se repelen se van alternando. Tambi\u00e9n descubrimos que la sensaci\u00f3n cambia seg\u00fan la l\u00e1mina magn\u00e9tica utilizada: var\u00edan tanto el ancho de las franjas como la intensidad de la resistencia. Nunca hab\u00eda imaginado que una simple l\u00e1mina magn\u00e9tica pudiera esconder una disposici\u00f3n de polos tan ingeniosa. \u00a1La ciencia est\u00e1 llena de sorpresas!
