El secreto est\u00e1 en el llamado \u00abefecto girosc\u00f3pico\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>El efecto girosc\u00f3pico es una propiedad realmente curiosa e interesante: un objeto que est\u00e1 girando tiende a mantener la direcci\u00f3n de su rotaci\u00f3n, es decir, la orientaci\u00f3n de su eje de giro.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00bfNo habr\u00e1 alguna forma de reproducir esta curiosa sensaci\u00f3n de una manera sencilla, con algo que podamos construir nosotros mismos\u2026?\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Esa idea llevaba varios a\u00f1os rond\u00e1ndome por la cabeza. Y hace poco, \u00a1por fin encontr\u00e9 la respuesta en un lugar de lo m\u00e1s inesperado!<\/p>\n<p>Fue durante el curso de formaci\u00f3n para instructores de experimentos del profesor Eiji Komori. Lo que nos ense\u00f1\u00f3 parec\u00eda, a primera vista, algo de lo m\u00e1s corriente: un \u00abcohete de vasos de papel\u00bb. Hoy quiero ense\u00f1arte c\u00f3mo construirlo.<\/p>\n<h3>Materiales<\/h3>\n<p>2 vasos de papel, unos alicates de corte, unas tijeras y 1 goma el\u00e1stica<\/p>\n<h3>C\u00f3mo construir la plataforma de lanzamiento<\/h3>\n<p>Primero, haz unos cortes en la base de uno de los vasos de papel. Pierde la estabilidad durante el vuelo.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a1Aqu\u00ed viene el truco m\u00e1gico: a\u00f1ade un \u00abgiro\u00bb!<\/h3>\n<p>Fue entonces cuando el profesor Komori me dio el consejo m\u00e1gico:<\/p>\n<p>\u00abAntes de lanzarlo, prueba a darle un peque\u00f1o giro\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Es muy sencillo. Jam\u00e1s habr\u00eda imaginado que un principio de control de la orientaci\u00f3n tan importante como el que se utiliza en las naves espaciales estuviera escondido en una manualidad tan sencilla.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando una pelota de rugby se lanza con un giro limpio, tambi\u00e9n vuela de forma mucho m\u00e1s estable. Y cuando una bala de un rifle recibe un movimiento de rotaci\u00f3n gracias a las estr\u00edas helicoidales del ca\u00f1\u00f3n, puede recorrer grandes distancias manteniendo una trayectoria recta. Todo esto est\u00e1 relacionado con el efecto girosc\u00f3pico.<\/p>\n<p>Los sencillos juegos cient\u00edficos que podemos hacer con objetos cotidianos son la puerta de entrada a un mundo enorme: un mundo que conecta con las leyes de la f\u00edsica que se estudian en la universidad e incluso con la tecnolog\u00eda utilizada en la exploraci\u00f3n espacial.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a1La ciencia puede ser realmente fascinante!<\/p>\n<h3>Mi juguete girosc\u00f3pico favorito: \u00abGyro Dora\u00bb<\/h3>\n<p>Me encantan los juguetes que permiten experimentar el efecto girosc\u00f3pico de primera mano. Tengo varias peonzas japonesas tradicionales, pero si tuviera que elegir una, mi recomendaci\u00f3n n\u00famero uno ser\u00eda esta \u00abGyro Dora\u00bb con forma de Doraemon.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">He seguido compr\u00e1ndolas con mi propio dinero para utilizarlas en clase y esta ya es la tercera generaci\u00f3n. No es precisamente barata, pero merece much\u00edsimo la pena.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lo impresionante de esta Gyro Dora son su tama\u00f1o y su potencia. En su interior lleva una gran peonza, es decir, un giroscopio.
