Desde hac\u00eda tiempo pensaba que <\/span><b style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Disneyland es una aut\u00e9ntica mina de oro para aprender ciencia<\/b><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">, as\u00ed que esta era una oportunidad perfecta. Adem\u00e1s de medir la aceleraci\u00f3n, tambi\u00e9n puede medir la altitud. Se puede conectar a un iPad para realizar las mediciones.<\/p>\n<p>Me lo guard\u00e9 en el bolsillo y, mientras iba registrando datos, med\u00ed la altitud y la aceleraci\u00f3n de Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain y Space Mountain. Pero hab\u00eda un peque\u00f1o problema: <b>no soy precisamente fan de las monta\u00f1as rusas<\/b>, as\u00ed que hac\u00eda d\u00e9cadas que no me sub\u00eda a una. Como me daba bastante miedo, invit\u00e9 a otros profesores para que me acompa\u00f1aran.<br \/>\nLa verdad es que en los experimentos las cosas no siempre salen bien a la primera. En esta ocasi\u00f3n tampoco: <b>acabamos teniendo que subir dos veces a cada atracci\u00f3n (\u00a1qu\u00e9 sufrimiento!). Mis compa\u00f1eros tambi\u00e9n tuvieron que aguantarme.<\/b> Eso s\u00ed, debido a las restricciones de aforo por el nuevo coronavirus, pudimos subir a cada atracci\u00f3n despu\u00e9s de esperar unos 15 minutos, lo cual fue una suerte enorme, ya que yo me hab\u00eda preparado mentalmente para esperar dos horas.<\/p>\n<h3>Empecemos por los datos de Splash Mountain<\/h3>\n<p>Primero, veamos los datos de Splash Mountain. Si observamos el conjunto de los datos de altitud, podemos comprobar que Splash Mountain tiene cuatro grandes descensos. \u00a1Y puedo confirmar que se notan perfectamente cuando est\u00e1s dentro de la atracci\u00f3n!<br \/>\nEl recorrido dura unos 6 minutos, una duraci\u00f3n considerablemente larga para una atracci\u00f3n de este tipo. Este es un v\u00eddeo publicado por alguien que realmente se subi\u00f3 a la atracci\u00f3n. Puede resultar interesante verlo teniendo en cuenta el gr\u00e1fico de arriba.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\ud83d\udd34\u6771\u4eac\u30c7\u30a3\u30ba\u30cb\u30fc\u30e9\u30f3\u30c9 \u30b9\u30d7\u30e9\u30c3\u30b7\u30e5\u30de\u30a6\u30f3\u30c6\u30f3\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AmPPm3O-mWA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Solo con estos datos ya podemos descubrir un mont\u00f3n de cosas. Seg\u00fan la informaci\u00f3n de la gu\u00eda oficial de Splash Mountain, <a href=\"[https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/?p=231](https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/?p=231)\">el desnivel m\u00e1ximo es de 16 m<\/a>. Sin embargo, las mediciones que realic\u00e9 dieron 16,2 m, pr\u00e1cticamente el mismo valor. \u00a1Parece que el alt\u00edmetro funcion\u00f3 bastante bien!<br \/>\nPor cierto, si hablamos de altitud en lugar de desnivel, el punto m\u00e1s alto est\u00e1 17,1 m por encima de la zona de embarque. Y s\u00ed, visto as\u00ed, la cosa da bastante miedo.<br \/>\nSi utilizamos \u00fanicamente estos datos y aplicamos el principio de conservaci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda mec\u00e1nica, podemos calcular la velocidad m\u00e1xima. <a href=\"[https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/?p=231](https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/?p=231)\">Te\u00f3ricamente, alcanza unos 64 km\/h (puedes consultar aqu\u00ed c\u00f3mo se realiza el c\u00e1lculo)<\/a>.<br \/>\nEn la p\u00e1gina oficial se indica una velocidad m\u00e1xima de 62 km\/h, probablemente debido a factores como la fuerza de rozamiento. Que el valor te\u00f3rico y el dato oficial est\u00e9n tan cerca me hizo soltar un \u00ab\u00a1guau!\u00bb mientras hac\u00eda los c\u00e1lculos.<\/p>\n<h3>La sorprendente trampa que aparece al integrar los datos de aceleraci\u00f3n<\/h3>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n analic\u00e9 los datos de aceleraci\u00f3n correspondientes al momento culminante de la atracci\u00f3n: el descenso por la \u00faltima gran cascada. Sin embargo, al calcular la velocidad m\u00e1xima a partir del desnivel utilizando la conservaci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda mec\u00e1nica, obtenemos aproximadamente 63 km\/h. \u00a1Hay una diferencia considerable entre ambos valores!<br \/>\nProbablemente <b>la causa sea que solo med\u00ed la aceleraci\u00f3n en la direcci\u00f3n del eje x<\/b>. <b>Ahora me arrepiento de no haber medido tambi\u00e9n las aceleraciones en los ejes y y z para combinarlas despu\u00e9s (\u00a1qu\u00e9 rabia!). Tendr\u00e9 que volver a intentarlo alg\u00fan d\u00eda.<\/b><br \/>\nEn realidad, durante una ca\u00edda nuestro cuerpo experimenta aceleraciones complejas no solo en la direcci\u00f3n del movimiento, sino tambi\u00e9n hacia arriba, abajo y hacia los lados. Medir \u00fanicamente una direcci\u00f3n no permite captar toda la historia del movimiento. Fue una de esas ocasiones en las que pude comprenderlo de verdad\u2026 \u00a1porque estaba dentro de la monta\u00f1a rusa!<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfLlegamos a estar en \u00abingravidez\u00bb durante un instante?<\/h3>\n<p>Pero hubo algo que me pareci\u00f3 especialmente interesante: cuando la altitud descend\u00eda bruscamente, el sensor registraba una aceleraci\u00f3n de 10 m\/s\u00b2. Al calcular tambi\u00e9n la aceleraci\u00f3n vertical a partir de los datos de altura, obtuve un valor de unos 12 m\/s\u00b2. As\u00ed que, al menos en lo que respecta a la aceleraci\u00f3n vertical, \u00bfpodr\u00eda ser posible que super\u00e1ramos la aceleraci\u00f3n de la gravedad, que es de 9,8 m\/s\u00b2?<br \/>\nEn cualquier caso, con los datos que tenemos, <strong>parece que durante un instante Splash Mountain se acerca a una situaci\u00f3n de ingravidez y que llegamos a estar flotando durante aproximadamente 0,1 segundos<\/strong>. Quiz\u00e1 algunos hayan experimentado esa sensaci\u00f3n de que el cuerpo se eleva ligeramente cuando un ascensor comienza a bajar de golpe. Pues bien, en una monta\u00f1a rusa ocurre algo parecido durante la ca\u00edda, pero de una forma mucho m\u00e1s intensa.<br \/>\nTambi\u00e9n podemos detectar en los datos que se produce una fuerte frenada, probablemente debido al agua. Es una caracter\u00edstica que no encontramos de la misma manera en otras monta\u00f1as rusas y probablemente se deba a la intensa resistencia que aparece en el momento en que el veh\u00edculo entra en contacto con la superficie del agua.<br \/>\n<a href=\"[https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/?p=39227](https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/?p=39227)\">Puedes consultar aqu\u00ed el an\u00e1lisis de Big Thunder Mountain. Yo configur\u00e9 la <b>frecuencia de muestreo para registrar un dato cada 0,1 segundos<\/b>. <b>Por defecto est\u00e1 configurada en 0,02 segundos<\/b>, pero descubr\u00ed que, al intentar registrar datos durante mucho tiempo, pueden producirse errores.<br \/>\nSi no se configura la finalizaci\u00f3n de la recopilaci\u00f3n de datos manualmente, el registro se detiene despu\u00e9s de un minuto.
