Cada d\u00eda es un nuevo experimento.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">&#8220;Ahora mismo estoy viajando por el espacio a m\u00e1s de 1.000 km\/h gracias a la rotaci\u00f3n de la Tierra&#8221;. Aunque escuches esta afirmaci\u00f3n, probablemente no sientas absolutamente nada. Y tiene todo el sentido del mundo: <b>la Tierra, el aire, los oc\u00e9anos e incluso nuestros propios cuerpos giran todos a la misma velocidad<\/b>. Es exactamente el mismo motivo por el que, si saltas dentro de un tren de alta velocidad, no terminas cayendo al fondo del vag\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Un d\u00eda, mientras revisaba las hojas de reflexi\u00f3n de mis alumnos, encontr\u00e9 una pregunta muy curiosa: &#8220;\u00bfQu\u00e9 pasar\u00eda si la rotaci\u00f3n de la Tierra se detuviera de repente?&#8221;. Me pareci\u00f3 tan interesante que decid\u00ed analizarla seriamente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">La respuesta corta es: <b>ser\u00eda una cat\u00e1strofe capaz de extinguir a la humanidad<\/b>. Eso significa que, en el ecuador, la superficie se mueve a aproximadamente <b>1.700 km\/h<\/b>. Sin embargo, esta velocidad depende de la latitud. En Jap\u00f3n (alrededor de Tokio, 35\u00b0 de latitud norte), la velocidad es de unos <b>1.350-1.400 km\/h<\/b>. Sin darnos cuenta, viajamos constantemente por el espacio a una velocidad superior a la de un avi\u00f3n comercial.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfLas personas realmente saldr\u00edan despedidas?<\/h3>\n<p>Aqu\u00ed es donde la f\u00edsica se vuelve fascinante. Seg\u00fan la <b>ley de la inercia<\/b> (la primera ley de Newton), un objeto continuar\u00e1 movi\u00e9ndose en l\u00ednea recta y a velocidad constante mientras ninguna fuerza externa act\u00fae sobre \u00e9l. Si el suelo se detuviera de golpe, nuestros cuerpos intentar\u00edan seguir movi\u00e9ndose a la velocidad que llevaban hasta ese instante.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, <b>en la realidad entrar\u00edan en juego la fricci\u00f3n y la resistencia del aire<\/b>, por lo que no ser\u00eda simplemente &#8220;salir disparado a 1.400 km\/h&#8221;. Lo que ocurrir\u00eda ser\u00eda mucho m\u00e1s complejo&#8230; y mucho m\u00e1s devastador.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Fricci\u00f3n brutal con el suelo:<\/b> Entre los zapatos y el suelo, as\u00ed como entre el cuerpo y la superficie, aparecer\u00edan fuerzas de fricci\u00f3n enormes. El resultado ser\u00eda un <b>viento supers\u00f3nico cercano a Mach 1<\/b> barriendo la superficie del planeta.
