Al verla, muchos pensamos: &#8220;\u00a1Una lib\u00e9lula roja!&#8221;, y sentimos un toque de nostalgia. Pero \u00bfsab\u00edas que este peque\u00f1o insecto pasa el verano en lo alto de las monta\u00f1as, lejos de nuestra vista? En Jap\u00f3n solemos llamarlas &#8220;akatonbo&#8221; (lib\u00e9lulas rojas), pero ese nombre no corresponde a una especie concreta, sino que es un <b>t\u00e9rmino general<\/b> para referirse a las lib\u00e9lulas de color rojo. Las que vemos con m\u00e1s frecuencia suelen ser la Akiakane o una especie muy cercana llamada Natsuakane.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a1Pasa el verano en un refugio de monta\u00f1a!<\/h3>\n<p>Aunque asociamos la Akiakane con el oto\u00f1o, en realidad realiza un viaje impresionante a lo largo del a\u00f1o. Alrededor de junio, despu\u00e9s de emerger en los arrozales, vuela hacia zonas monta\u00f1osas para escapar del calor antes de que llegue el verano m\u00e1s intenso. Es precisamente entonces cuando solemos notar que las lib\u00e9lulas rojas vuelven a aparecer. Pensar que un insecto tan peque\u00f1o realiza migraciones estacionales, casi como las aves migratorias, hace que lo veamos con otros ojos.<\/p>\n<p>Y hay otro detalle curioso: ese llamativo color rojo no lo tiene desde el principio. Al salir del agua, su cuerpo presenta un tono amarillento. Mientras vive en las monta\u00f1as y las temperaturas descienden, poco a poco va adquiriendo su caracter\u00edstico color rojo. Igual que las hojas cambian de color en oto\u00f1o, esta lib\u00e9lula tambi\u00e9n transforma su aspecto con el paso de las estaciones. \u00bfNo resulta fascinante?<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfC\u00f3mo es el mundo visto a trav\u00e9s de 50.000 ojos?<\/h3>\n<p>Los ojos de las lib\u00e9lulas son del tipo <b>compuesto<\/b>. Si lo compar\u00e1ramos con una c\u00e1mara digital, ser\u00eda como disponer de una c\u00e1mara de unas <strong>50.000 p\u00edxeles<\/strong>. Si tenemos en cuenta que los tel\u00e9fonos inteligentes actuales superan f\u00e1cilmente los <strong>10 millones de p\u00edxeles<\/strong>, es probable que la imagen que percibe una lib\u00e9lula sea mucho m\u00e1s simple y con un aspecto parecido a un mosaico.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, sus ojos poseen una ventaja extraordinaria. Les permiten vigilar un campo visual inmenso y reaccionar casi al instante ante cualquier movimiento. En lugar de buscar una imagen muy detallada, est\u00e1n especializados en detectar objetos en movimiento. Gracias a ello, las lib\u00e9lulas pueden capturar con enorme precisi\u00f3n peque\u00f1os insectos mientras vuelan. Es un magn\u00edfico ejemplo de c\u00f3mo la evoluci\u00f3n adapta cada \u00f3rgano a su funci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Una simple lib\u00e9lula roja que cruza el cielo oto\u00f1al esconde una historia sorprendente: veranos en las monta\u00f1as, un cambio de color provocado por la temperatura y una forma \u00fanica de observar el mundo gracias a sus miles de ojos. Incluso los insectos m\u00e1s comunes guardan secretos fascinantes cuando nos detenemos a observarlos.
