Ambos nadan de forma perfectamente sim\u00e9trica, como si estuvieran dentro de un enorme espejo.<\/p>\n<h3>El secreto est\u00e1 en la &#8220;reflexi\u00f3n interna total&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>La explicaci\u00f3n de este curioso fen\u00f3meno es un efecto \u00f3ptico llamado <b>reflexi\u00f3n interna total<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando la luz viaja desde el agua hacia la superficie, si llega con un \u00e1ngulo m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o que un determinado l\u00edmite, ya no puede salir al aire y se refleja por completo, como si hubiera chocado contra un espejo. El \u00e1ngulo que marca ese l\u00edmite se conoce como <b>\u00e1ngulo cr\u00edtico<\/b>. Ese c\u00edrculo luminoso recibe el nombre de <b>ventana de Snell<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Fuera de esa ventana, la superficie del agua act\u00faa como un espejo y refleja el propio paisaje submarino.<\/p>\n<p>Lo que ocurri\u00f3 con los peces del acuario es exactamente eso: la c\u00e1mara estaba captando la parte de la superficie que se hab\u00eda convertido en un espejo, fuera de la ventana de Snell.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"20130804133003\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com\/images\/fotolife\/k\/kkuwako\/20130804\/20130804133003.jpg\" alt=\"20130804133003\" width=\"477\" height=\"359\" \/><\/p>\n<p>[https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/?p=878](https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/?p=878)<\/p>\n<h3>La reflexi\u00f3n interna total est\u00e1 mucho m\u00e1s cerca de lo que imaginas<\/h3>\n<p>La reflexi\u00f3n interna total no solo produce curiosos efectos en los acuarios; tambi\u00e9n desempe\u00f1a un papel fundamental en nuestra vida cotidiana.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, las fibras \u00f3pticas transmiten informaci\u00f3n a grandes distancias haciendo que la luz rebote continuamente mediante reflexi\u00f3n interna total dentro del vidrio. Del mismo modo, el espectacular brillo de los diamantes se debe a que la luz queda atrapada en su interior, reflej\u00e1ndose una y otra vez antes de salir y producir ese destello tan caracter\u00edstico.<\/p>\n<p>Los &#8220;dos peces&#8221; del acuario, las piedras brillantes de algunos museos y las comunicaciones por fibra \u00f3ptica est\u00e1n unidos por la misma ley de la f\u00edsica: la reflexi\u00f3n interna total.<\/p>\n<p>Pensar que un mismo fen\u00f3meno explica situaciones tan diferentes hace que mirar un simple acuario resulte mucho m\u00e1s fascinante.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Los dos peces que ve\u00edas no eran un fantasma ni un truco fotogr\u00e1fico.
