Heilurin jaksoaika (yksi edestakainen liike) m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ytyy langan pituuden mukaan. T\u00e4t\u00e4 ilmi\u00f6t\u00e4 kutsutaan <b>heilurin isokronisuudeksi<\/b>. Pitk\u00e4 heiluri liikkuu hitaasti, lyhyt nopeasti. Kun n\u00e4m\u00e4 yhdistyv\u00e4t, syntyy monimutkaisia ja h\u00e4mm\u00e4stytt\u00e4v\u00e4n kauniita kuvioita \u2013 aivan kuin n\u00e4kym\u00e4t\u00f6n koreografi ohjaisi liikett\u00e4.<\/p>\n<h3>Paluu alkuun kahdessa minuutissa \u2013 miten se on mahdollista?<\/h3>\n<p>Koko j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4 palaa alkuper\u00e4iseen asentoonsa noin <b>kahden minuutin<\/b> kuluttua. Kaikkien 15 heilurin pituudet on <b>laskettu tarkasti<\/b> niin, ett\u00e4 kukin suorittaa t\u00e4sm\u00e4llisen m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n heilahduksia kahdessa minuutissa ja p\u00e4\u00e4tyy takaisin samaan l\u00e4ht\u00f6pisteeseen.<br \/>\nEsimerkiksi pisin heiluri tekee 51 edestakaista liikett\u00e4 kahdessa minuutissa, seuraava 52, sit\u00e4 seuraava 53 ja niin edelleen \u2013 jokaisen pituus on s\u00e4\u00e4detty niin, ett\u00e4 niiden rytmit eroavat hieman toisistaan.<br \/>\nVaikka jokainen heiluri liikkuu omassa rytmiss\u00e4\u00e4n, kaksi minuuttia my\u00f6hemmin kaikki palaavat t\u00e4ydellisesti samaan starttiasentoon. T\u00e4t\u00e4 voi selitt\u00e4\u00e4 k\u00e4sitteill\u00e4 kuten <b>sykeilmi\u00f6<\/b> ja <b>resonanssin \u201cresetointi\u201d<\/b>. Musiikillisesti se muistuttaa hetke\u00e4, jolloin 15 muusikkoa, eri tempoissa soitettuaan, osuvat t\u00e4sm\u00e4lleen samaan ensimm\u00e4iseen iskuun yht\u00e4 aikaa.<\/p>\n<h3>Millaisia \u201ctansseja\u201d syntyy?<\/h3>\n<p>Kahden minuutin aikana heilurit muuttavat muotoaan jatkuvasti. Aluksi ne liikkuvat yhten\u00e4isesti, sitten aaltoilevat kuin meri, joskus n\u00e4ytt\u00e4v\u00e4t muodostavan py\u00f6rteen, joskus jakautuvat kahteen ryhm\u00e4\u00e4n. <b>Yksik\u00e4\u00e4n kuvio ei toistu t\u00e4sm\u00e4lleen samanlaisena<\/b>.
