Jokainen p\u00e4iv\u00e4 on uusi koe.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Harva luonnontieteiden opettaja voi sanoa lent\u00e4neens\u00e4 nurin kesken oppitunnin. Mutta tieteen kokeissa piilee yll\u00e4tyksi\u00e4, joita oppikirjoista ei l\u00f6ydy. T\u00e4ll\u00e4 kertaa kerron yhdest\u00e4 omasta ep\u00e4onnistuneesta kokeestani. Tarina on hieman pelottava, mutta samalla varsin huvittava \u2013 kurkistetaan siis staattisen s\u00e4hk\u00f6n yll\u00e4tt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4n maailmaan.<\/p>\n<h3>P\u00e4iv\u00e4, jolloin sain s\u00e4hk\u00f6iskun induktiokelasta<\/h3>\n<p>Minulle on itse asiassa k\u00e4ynyt niin, ett\u00e4 sain s\u00e4hk\u00f6iskun kesken opetuksen <b>induktiokelasta<\/b>. Olin selitt\u00e4m\u00e4ss\u00e4 ilmi\u00f6t\u00e4 oppilaille k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en tyhji\u00f6purkausputkea, kun kosketin vahingossa kahta elektrodia samanaikaisesti. Seuraavassa hetkess\u00e4 olin jo sel\u00e4ll\u00e4ni lattialla.<\/p>\n<p>Tuntemus ei ollut niink\u00e4\u00e4n \u201dauts\u201d, vaan enemm\u00e4nkin kuin <b>voimakas isku olisi paiskannut koko kehoni taaksep\u00e4in<\/b>. Induktiokela muuntaa tavallisen pariston matalan j\u00e4nnitteen kymmeniin tuhansiin voltoihin. Vaikka virta on pieni, hetkellinen isku voi olla yll\u00e4tt\u00e4v\u00e4n voimakas. Muistan ajatelleeni vain: \u201dInduktiokelat ovat oikeasti pelottavia&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Van de Graaff + Leydenin pullo = todellinen s\u00e4ik\u00e4hdys<\/h3>\n<p>Samantapainen kokemus sattui my\u00f6hemmin toisessa kokeessa. Kyseess\u00e4 oli kuuluisa <b>\u201dsadan ihmisen s\u00e4ikytys\u201d<\/b> -koe.<\/p>\n<p>K\u00e4ytimme <b>Van de Graaff -generaattoria<\/b>, joka ker\u00e4\u00e4 staattista s\u00e4hk\u00f6\u00e4 py\u00f6riv\u00e4n hihnan avulla ja nostaa suuren metallikupolin eritt\u00e4in korkeaan j\u00e4nnitteeseen. Yksin\u00e4\u00e4n laitetta k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n usein tuttuihin esityksiin, joissa hiukset nousevat pystyyn, joten se vaikuttaa melko harmittomalta.<\/p>\n<p>Tilanne muuttuu kuitenkin t\u00e4ysin, kun mukaan otetaan <b>Leydenin pullo<\/b>. T\u00e4m\u00e4 1700-luvulla Alankomaiden Leidenin yliopistossa kehitetty laite oli maailman ensimm\u00e4inen kondensaattori eli s\u00e4hk\u00f6n varastointilaite. Lasipurkin sis\u00e4- ja ulkopinnalle kiinnitetyt metallikalvot mahdollistavat s\u00e4hk\u00f6varauksen ker\u00e4\u00e4misen v\u00e4hitellen ja sen purkamisen yhdell\u00e4 kertaa.<\/p>\n<p>Juuri t\u00e4m\u00e4 \u201dker\u00e4\u00e4 ja vapauta kerralla\u201d -periaate synnytt\u00e4\u00e4 voimakkaan iskun.<\/p>\n<p>Kokeen aikana oppilaiden kanssa tapahtui jotain odottamatonta. Mutta juuri siin\u00e4 piilee staattisen s\u00e4hk\u00f6n kokeiden j\u00e4nnitys: <b>et koskaan tied\u00e4 tarkalleen, milloin isku tulee<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h3>Miten staattinen s\u00e4hk\u00f6 ker\u00e4t\u00e4\u00e4n ja vapautetaan hetkess\u00e4?<\/h3>\n<p>Kun Leydenin pullo keksittiin, sen voima h\u00e4mm\u00e4stytti aikansa tutkijoita. Historiallisissa kertomuksissa mainitaan jopa tutkijoita, jotka lensiv\u00e4t nurin kokeiden aikana. Ehk\u00e4 1700-luvun tiedemiehet kokivat aivan samanlaisia yll\u00e4tyksi\u00e4 kuin me nyky\u00e4\u00e4n.<\/p>\n<p>Staattinen s\u00e4hk\u00f6 on ilmi\u00f6, joka ymp\u00e4r\u00f6i meit\u00e4 jatkuvasti. Sama periaate on kyseess\u00e4, kun talvella kosketat ovenkahvaa ja saat tutun \u201dnapsahduksen\u201d. Erona on vain mittakaava. <b>S\u00e4hk\u00f6n perusluonne ei ole muuttunut vuosisatojen aikana lainkaan.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Turvallisuus on tietenkin jokaisen kokeen t\u00e4rkein l\u00e4ht\u00f6kohta. Silti juuri t\u00e4llaiset odottamattomat tilanteet auttavat oppilaita ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n konkreettisesti, kuinka valtava voima s\u00e4hk\u00f6ll\u00e4 voi olla.
