La ciencia detr\u00e1s del truco de \u201ccruzar las piernas durante 10 segundos\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>Cuando permanecemos mucho tiempo sentados en la postura tradicional japonesa de seiza, ya sea en una ceremonia o durante una reuni\u00f3n de t\u00e9, tarde o temprano aparece esa sensaci\u00f3n de hormigueo en las piernas. La respuesta se encuentra en una compleja interacci\u00f3n entre los nervios y la circulaci\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea. En este art\u00edculo vamos a descubrir qu\u00e9 ocurre realmente desde un punto de vista cient\u00edfico.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, en el siguiente v\u00eddeo se muestra una curiosa t\u00e9cnica para aliviar el entumecimiento: colocar una pierna sobre la pantorrilla de la otra y aplicar presi\u00f3n durante unos segundos. Como consecuencia, el flujo sangu\u00edneo hacia los pies disminuye y los nervios empiezan a sufrir una <b>situaci\u00f3n de falta de ox\u00edgeno (hipoxia)<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando los nervios reciben menos ox\u00edgeno del necesario, comienzan a enviar se\u00f1ales de alarma al cerebro indicando que el flujo sangu\u00edneo est\u00e1 comprometido. Si la presi\u00f3n contin\u00faa durante m\u00e1s tiempo, los nervios reducen temporalmente su actividad y perdemos sensibilidad. Por eso sentimos que las piernas \u201cdesaparecen\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Curiosamente, el intenso dolor de tipo <b>hormigueo o pinchazos<\/b> suele aparecer cuando la presi\u00f3n desaparece y la sangre vuelve a circular normalmente. El retorno brusco del flujo sangu\u00edneo estimula los nervios de golpe, produciendo esa sensaci\u00f3n tan caracter\u00edstica. En otras palabras, el momento m\u00e1s intenso del adormecimiento llega precisamente cuando empieza a desaparecer.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 funciona el truco de cruzar las piernas durante 10 segundos?<\/h3>\n<p>Existe un m\u00e9todo popular que consiste en cruzar las piernas durante unos diez segundos cuando empiezan a dormirse (ver el v\u00eddeo anterior). Aunque todav\u00eda no lo he probado personalmente, tiene bastante sentido desde el punto de vista fisiol\u00f3gico. Este mecanismo ayuda a empujar la sangre venosa de regreso hacia el coraz\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Por eso las pantorrillas suelen recibir el apodo de \u201csegundo coraz\u00f3n\u201d: desempe\u00f1an un papel fundamental en el retorno de la sangre al sistema circulatorio.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Los m\u00fasculos de las pantorrillas desempe\u00f1an una funci\u00f3n esencial en el retorno de la sangre venosa al coraz\u00f3n. Este proceso, conocido como \u201cbombeo muscular\u201d, se produce gracias a la contracci\u00f3n y relajaci\u00f3n de los m\u00fasculos, que impulsan la sangre hacia arriba y evitan su retroceso. Debido a esta funci\u00f3n similar a la de una bomba, las piernas son conocidas como el \u201csegundo coraz\u00f3n\u201d. Durante la caminata, el movimiento de las pantorrillas mejora significativamente la circulaci\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea y beneficia a todo el sistema cardiovascular. Por esta raz\u00f3n, muchos m\u00e9dicos recomiendan caminar regularmente.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 se dice que las piernas son el \u201csegundo coraz\u00f3n\u201d? Algunas medidas sencillas pueden ayudar a mantener una buena circulaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><b>Cambiar el peso del cuerpo con frecuencia<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Mover ligeramente el peso hacia un lado u otro, o incluso mover un poco los dedos de los pies cada cinco minutos, puede marcar una gran diferencia.<\/p>\n<p><b>Colocar un coj\u00edn debajo de los tobillos<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Reducir el \u00e1ngulo de flexi\u00f3n de los tobillos disminuye la presi\u00f3n sobre los vasos sangu\u00edneos.<\/p>\n<p><b>Utilizar una silla cuando sea posible<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Si eres una persona propensa al adormecimiento, no dudes en usar una silla durante ceremonias, reuniones o eventos largos.
