Cada d\u00eda es un experimento.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Cuando jugamos en un parque, a menudo encontramos aut\u00e9nticos tesoros de las matem\u00e1ticas y la f\u00edsica escondidos en los lugares m\u00e1s inesperados. Hace poco, una estructura de juegos que hab\u00eda visto muchas veces llam\u00f3 poderosamente mi atenci\u00f3n. Su forma segu\u00eda una trayectoria en espiral y, aunque a simple vista parec\u00eda un simple juego infantil para trepar, en realidad escond\u00eda un fen\u00f3meno fascinante: su forma parece cambiar seg\u00fan el \u00e1ngulo desde el que la observemos.<\/p>\n<h3>El misterio de la espiral escondida en un parque<\/h3>\n<p>Observa la siguiente fotograf\u00eda. Encontr\u00e9 una estructura con una trayectoria helicoidal en un parque. Es una curva con una larga historia en las matem\u00e1ticas, estudiada incluso por Galileo por sus propiedades relacionadas con la ca\u00edda m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida. Resulta sorprendente pensar que algo tan sofisticado pueda aparecer escondido en la sombra de un juego de parque.<\/p>\n<h3>La espiral cambia de forma seg\u00fan c\u00f3mo la mires<\/h3>\n<p>Lo m\u00e1s interesante de esta trayectoria helicoidal es que <b>puede parecer una figura completamente distinta dependiendo del \u00e1ngulo de observaci\u00f3n<\/b>. Una h\u00e9lice es una curva tridimensional que combina un movimiento circular con un ascenso constante. Si proyectamos esa trayectoria desde arriba, obtenemos un c\u00edrculo. Si la proyectamos desde un lado, aparece una onda sinusoidal.<\/p>\n<p>En f\u00edsica y matem\u00e1ticas es muy habitual estudiar movimientos tridimensionales mediante sus proyecciones en dos dimensiones. Por ejemplo, las ondas electromagn\u00e9ticas, como la luz o las ondas de radio, tienen campos el\u00e9ctricos y magn\u00e9ticos que oscilan perpendicularmente entre s\u00ed mientras avanzan por el espacio. Cuando representamos esas oscilaciones en una secci\u00f3n determinada, suelen dibujarse como ondas sinusoidales.<\/p>\n<p>La h\u00e9lice, la onda y el c\u00edrculo pueden parecer figuras completamente diferentes, pero en realidad son distintas formas de observar un mismo movimiento.<\/p>\n<h3>Compru\u00e9balo t\u00fa mismo con GeoGebra<\/h3>\n<p>Imaginar objetos tridimensionales \u00fanicamente en nuestra mente no siempre es f\u00e1cil. Puedes girar libremente la h\u00e9lice y comprobar por ti mismo desde qu\u00e9 \u00e1ngulos parece un c\u00edrculo y desde cu\u00e1les parece una onda sinusoidal.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: 1px solid #e4e4e4; border-radius: 4px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geogebra.org\/3d\/wqgbeya8?embed\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Al cambiar lentamente la direcci\u00f3n de observaci\u00f3n, ver\u00e1s c\u00f3mo un c\u00edrculo se transforma gradualmente en una onda, y c\u00f3mo la onda vuelve a convertirse en c\u00edrculo. Esa experiencia de descubrir que un mismo objeto puede adoptar apariencias tan distintas es una excelente puerta de entrada para comprender el espacio tridimensional.<\/p>\n<p>Un simple juego de parque puede convertirse en una herramienta educativa que conecta tres conceptos matem\u00e1ticos fascinantes: el movimiento circular, las ondas sinusoidales y las cicloides.
