Me acerqu\u00e9 por curiosidad y descubr\u00ed algo sorprendente: los finos dibujos de la hoja aparec\u00edan ampliados con una claridad incre\u00edble. Precisamente esa forma les permite actuar igual que una <b>lente convexa<\/b>, desviando la luz y ampliando los objetos. \u00bfAlguna vez has usado una lupa? Pues exactamente el mismo fen\u00f3meno ocurre dentro de una diminuta gota de agua.<\/p>\n<h3>Lo que vemos es una &#8220;imagen virtual&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>La imagen ampliada de las nervaduras de la hoja que observamos a trav\u00e9s de la gota se conoce como <b>imagen virtual<\/b>. Una imagen virtual no existe f\u00edsicamente en ese lugar; es una imagen que parece estar all\u00ed debido a la trayectoria de la luz. Es uno de los conceptos fundamentales que se estudian al aprender sobre lentes. Puede sonar complicado, pero saber que este fen\u00f3meno est\u00e1 escondido dentro de una simple gota de lluvia lo hace mucho m\u00e1s cercano e interesante. Estas forman una compleja red de conductos encargados de transportar agua y nutrientes por toda la planta. Aunque solemos verlas representadas en los libros de texto, observarlas a trav\u00e9s de una lente de agua revela una belleza mucho m\u00e1s real y fascinante.<\/p>\n<p>Para contemplar este fen\u00f3meno, el mejor momento es <b>justo despu\u00e9s de la lluvia<\/b>. Las plantas cuyas hojas repelen el agua con facilidad suelen formar gotas m\u00e1s redondas y perfectas, lo que intensifica el efecto de lente. Las hojas de loto son famosas por ello, pero muchas flores y plantas comunes de los parques tambi\u00e9n ofrecen un espect\u00e1culo similar.
