En su interior tiene unas ruedas y un pesado disco oculto llamado volante de inercia. Piensa en una peonza. Cuando est\u00e1 quieta, se cae enseguida. Pero cuando gira muy r\u00e1pido, permanece estable durante mucho tiempo. Eso es precisamente el efecto girosc\u00f3pico.<\/p>\n<p>Los objetos en rotaci\u00f3n tienen la propiedad de intentar mantener la direcci\u00f3n de su eje de giro. En f\u00edsica esto se conoce como la ley de conservaci\u00f3n del momento angular. Cuanto m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido gira un objeto, m\u00e1s fuerte se vuelve esa estabilidad.<\/p>\n<p>Dentro del Spin Gyro 2, el disco interno alcanza velocidades enormes gracias al movimiento de las ruedas. Entonces aparece una especie de \u201cresistencia\u201d a cambiar de orientaci\u00f3n. Aunque lo empujes o lo inclines desde fuera, el juguete intenta mantener su postura.<\/p>\n<h3>La extra\u00f1a estabilidad en posiciones imposibles<\/h3>\n<p>Cuando el disco empieza a girar, este juguete puede mantenerse estable en posiciones totalmente absurdas. Esto ocurre porque el efecto girosc\u00f3pico hace que el eje de rotaci\u00f3n se comporte como si quisiera permanecer \u201cfijo en el espacio\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>De hecho, los cohetes espaciales y los sat\u00e9lites artificiales utilizan exactamente el mismo principio para mantener su orientaci\u00f3n.
