A stationary top falls over almost immediately, but a rapidly spinning top stubbornly stays upright. That’s the gyroscopic effect in action. A spinning object naturally tries to keep its axis pointed in the same direction.

In physics, this comes from the law of conservation of angular momentum. The faster something spins, the stronger its stability becomes.

Inside the Spin Gyro 2, the flywheel spins at very high speed as the wheels roll. Once spinning, the wheel essentially “demands” to keep its orientation unchanged. Push it, tilt it, or try to knock it over—and it resists surprisingly hard.

A Toy That Balances in Impossible Positions

Once the disk is spinning, the toy can stabilize in positions that seem completely impossible.

Hold it sideways.
