Pero, \u00bfsab\u00edas que detr\u00e1s de cada una de sus capas se esconde un plano microsc\u00f3pico tan vasto como el universo? En el momento en que te asomas al microscopio, lo que aparece ante tus ojos es un ej\u00e9rcito perfectamente ordenado de &#8220;habitantes de la vida&#8221;. Observar las c\u00e9lulas de la cebolla es un cl\u00e1sico en las clases de ciencias de secundaria, pero m\u00e1s que una simple tarea escolar, es una expedici\u00f3n fascinante que nos recuerda que nosotros tambi\u00e9n estamos hechos de lo mismo.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a1Pero ojo! Ser\u00eda una pena limitarse a seguir el libro de texto al pie de la letra. Hoy te ense\u00f1ar\u00e9 c\u00f3mo despertar la curiosidad y el asombro de los estudiantes, convirti\u00e9ndolos en verdaderos exploradores de un mundo desconocido.<\/p>\n<h3>Herramientas necesarias y claves para la preparaci\u00f3n<\/h3>\n<p>Para esta aventura necesitaremos: una cebolla, dos portaobjetos, dos cubreobjetos, un microscopio, pinzas, colorante (acetocarm\u00edn), un gotero y un c\u00fater.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque los materiales son sencillos, el secreto del \u00e9xito est\u00e1 en los detalles. Lo m\u00e1s importante es usar una cebolla fresca. Cuanto m\u00e1s jugosa est\u00e9, m\u00e1s turgentes se ver\u00e1n las c\u00e9lulas, y la belleza de la imagen ser\u00e1 de otro nivel. En realidad, esta membrana es una barrera viva que ayuda a la cebolla a retener agua bajo tierra y a protegerse de enemigos y de la sequ\u00eda. A pesar de su delicadeza, ver c\u00f3mo las c\u00e9lulas se conectan firmemente como si fueran ladrillos es una verdadera obra de arte de la naturaleza.<\/p>\n<p>Al colocar la piel sobre el portaobjetos, el truco es extenderla tratando de que mantenga su orientaci\u00f3n original. Evitar las arrugas permite que las c\u00e9lulas no se amontonen y que el mundo microsc\u00f3pico se vea con total claridad. Explicar que este contraste es la base del an\u00e1lisis cient\u00edfico le da mucha m\u00e1s profundidad al experimento. Finalmente, coloca el cubreobjetos con cuidado usando una aguja enmangada para evitar burbujas de aire. Empezamos con el aumento m\u00e1s bajo y vamos haciendo zoom poco a poco. Al llegar a los 400 aumentos, los alumnos se encuentran por primera vez con un microuniverso invisible al ojo humano. Es imposible no sentir el orden de la naturaleza al observar esa cuadr\u00edcula perfecta.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 se ti\u00f1en? Aqu\u00ed un dato curioso: \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 solo se ti\u00f1e el n\u00facleo? El ADN tiene carga el\u00e9ctrica negativa, mientras que el pigmento del acetocarm\u00edn tiene carga positiva. Como si fueran imanes, el colorante es atra\u00eddo por el ADN, haciendo que el n\u00facleo resalte con nitidez.
