Palamisaikaan pakastaminen ei siis t\u00e4ss\u00e4 kokeessa vaikuttanut, mutta &#8220;kakun puhtaana pit\u00e4misess\u00e4&#8221; pakastettu kynttil\u00e4 vei voiton 6\u20130.<\/p>\n<p>Kokeilin viel\u00e4 kallistaa kynttil\u00f6it\u00e4 provosoidakseni valumista, ja ero oli edelleen huomattava huoneenl\u00e4mp\u00f6isen eduksi (tai haitaksi). Miksi kylmyys est\u00e4\u00e4 valumisen?<\/h3>\n<p>Miksi pelkk\u00e4 viilennyksen antaminen tekee n\u00e4in suuren eron? Salaisuus piilee kynttil\u00f6iden p\u00e4\u00e4raaka-aineessa, parafiinivahassa.<\/p>\n<p>Tavallisen kynttil\u00e4parafiinin sulamispiste on noin 60 astetta. Kiehumispiste (jolloin se muuttuu kaasuksi) on taas noin 322 astetta. T\u00e4m\u00e4 tarkoittaa, ett\u00e4 valuva, nestem\u00e4inen steariini on l\u00e4mp\u00f6tilaltaan jotain n\u00e4iden v\u00e4lilt\u00e4.<\/p>\n<p>T\u00e4ss\u00e4 vaiheessa kuvaan astuu &#8220;l\u00e4mp\u00f6tilajarru&#8221;. Steariini lakkaa valumasta ja j\u00e4hmettyy heti, kun se j\u00e4\u00e4htyy alle 60 asteen.<\/p>\n<p>Koti-pakastin on yleens\u00e4 noin -18-asteinen. Kun kynttil\u00e4 on l\u00e4pikotaisin j\u00e4\u00e4ss\u00e4, sen pinta pysyy viile\u00e4n\u00e4 pidemp\u00e4\u00e4n sytytt\u00e4misen j\u00e4lkeen.
