Nimi itsess\u00e4\u00e4n viittaa lehtien muotoon. Mutta miten on ginkgon laita, jolla on litte\u00e4t ja leve\u00e4t lehdet? Ulkon\u00e4\u00f6n perusteella se on helppo luokitella lehtipuuksi, mutta biologisesti se ei pid\u00e4 paikkaansa. Nyky\u00e4\u00e4n koko maailmassa on j\u00e4ljell\u00e4 vain <b>yksi ainoa laji<\/b>, joka edustaa luokkaansa, lahkoaan ja heimoaan: meid\u00e4n tuntemamme neidonhiuspuu.
