Es el \u00fanico museo en el planeta dedicado exclusivamente a los par\u00e1sitos. Sin embargo, esa frase resume toda la ecolog\u00eda parasitaria. Para ellos, encontrar un hu\u00e9sped es un proyecto de vida o muerte.<\/p>\n<p>El museo tiene una estructura compacta de dos plantas, pero la densidad de la exhibici\u00f3n es abrumadora. El primer piso est\u00e1 repleto de innumerables muestras, mientras que el segundo ofrece explicaciones detalladas en paneles. La explicaci\u00f3n me dej\u00f3 boquiabierto: las garrapatas secretan una sustancia similar al cemento para fijarse al hu\u00e9sped y, adem\u00e1s, sus piezas bucales tienen p\u00faas orientadas hacia atr\u00e1s que act\u00faan como un cierre de seguridad. Una vez que muerden, no se sueltan f\u00e1cilmente. Casi me desmayo del susto. Ahora s\u00e9 que era este par\u00e1sito.<\/p>\n<p>Su ciclo de vida parece sacado de una pel\u00edcula de terror de ciencia ficci\u00f3n. Cuando crecen dentro de la mantis, llegan a manipular el cerebro del hu\u00e9sped para que este se dirija hacia el agua. En cuanto la mantis salta al agua (o entra en contacto con ella), el gusano emerge triunfal para reproducirse en el medio acu\u00e1tico. A pesar del riesgo de extinguirse si un solo paso falla, han mantenido este ciclo durante milenios. Ese empe\u00f1o genera una sensaci\u00f3n de asombro que supera al miedo.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a18 metros de largo! El gigante que vive en humanos<br \/>\nNo podemos olvidar a los par\u00e1sitos humanos. En la exhibici\u00f3n de la tenia (Diphyllobothrium nihonkaiense), vimos un ejemplar de nada menos que 8.8 metros de largo.
