Cada d\u00eda es un experimento.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Seguro que alguna vez, en una ma\u00f1ana fr\u00eda de invierno, te has frotado las manos y has soplado sobre ellas para calentarte.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00bfSientes que tus manos se calientan de verdad, o es solo una sensaci\u00f3n?<\/p>\n<p>Miremos esta duda cotidiana con ojos cient\u00edficos. En esta ocasi\u00f3n, he decidido investigar qu\u00e9 ocurre exactamente en las palmas de nuestras manos cuando las frotamos, utilizando una herramienta muy especial: una c\u00e1mara termogr\u00e1fica.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando frotas tus manos y sientes calor, es gracias a una fuerza invisible llamada fricci\u00f3n. La fricci\u00f3n es la resistencia que ocurre cuando dos superficies se deslizan una contra la otra. Lo fascinante es que esta fuerza tiene el &#8220;superpoder&#8221; de convertir la energ\u00eda del movimiento en calor. Pi\u00e9nsalo as\u00ed: en la antig\u00fcedad, los seres humanos lograban encender fuego frotando trozos de madera. Ese es el ejemplo perfecto del uso de la fricci\u00f3n. Al realizar este sencillo movimiento con tus manos, la energ\u00eda que usas para moverlas se transforma en energ\u00eda t\u00e9rmica, calentando poco a poco tu piel.<\/p>\n<p>Este fen\u00f3meno est\u00e1 en todas partes. Cuando un coche frena de golpe, los neum\u00e1ticos y las pastillas de freno se calientan much\u00edsimo. Incluso las estrellas fugaces brillan porque el polvo espacial roza con tanta fuerza nuestra atm\u00f3sfera que genera un calor intenso hasta encenderse.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a1Midamos la temperatura con termograf\u00eda!<\/h2>\n<p>Pero, \u00bfcu\u00e1nto sube la temperatura realmente? Tras solo unos segundos de fricci\u00f3n, el color de las palmas pas\u00f3 a amarillo y naranja. Esto demuestra que la temperatura ha subido. Es incre\u00edble c\u00f3mo algo que normalmente no podemos ver, como el flujo de calor en nuestra piel, se vuelve tan evidente gracias a la tecnolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Lo que m\u00e1s me sorprende es que estas c\u00e1maras termogr\u00e1ficas (sensores infrarrojos de onda media a larga), que antes costaban una fortuna, ahora son muy accesibles.
