Cada d\u00eda es un experimento.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Si alguien te preguntara: &#8220;\u00bfQu\u00e9 parte de la fresa te est\u00e1s comiendo?&#8221;, lo m\u00e1s probable es que respondas: &#8220;\u00a1Pues la parte dulce y roja!&#8221;. Pero, \u00bfqu\u00e9 me dir\u00edas si te dijera que, desde el punto de vista bot\u00e1nico, esa parte que consideramos &#8220;la fruta&#8221; es en realidad algo completamente distinto? Prep\u00e1rate para sorprenderte.<\/p>\n<p>Este a\u00f1o me he animado a cultivar fresas en mi jard\u00edn y, por fin, han empezado a brotar unas preciosas y delicadas flores blancas. Es fascinante pensar c\u00f3mo estas florecitas se transformar\u00e1n en ese fruto rojo y brillante. En bot\u00e1nica se denomina recept\u00e1culo floral, y no es m\u00e1s que la base de la flor que ha crecido de forma desmesurada.<\/p>\n<p>Imagina que el recept\u00e1culo es como el &#8220;escenario&#8221; donde se apoyan los p\u00e9talos, los estambres y los pistilos. En resumen: lo que nos comemos con tanto gusto es el extremo del tallo que se ha hinchado. Curioso, \u00bfverdad? La fresa es una estructura asombrosa que agrupa much\u00edsimos frutos min\u00fasculos sobre un mullido coj\u00edn rojo (el recept\u00e1culo). En el extremo del estol\u00f3n crece una nueva plantita que, una vez echa ra\u00edces, se independiza. Es una estrategia doble: aseguran su descendencia mediante semillas y expanden su territorio mediante clones. \u00a1Toda una lecci\u00f3n de supervivencia!<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfSab\u00edas que la manzana guarda el mismo secreto?<\/h3>\n<p>Investigando m\u00e1s sobre la estructura de la fresa, descubr\u00ed que comparte algo sorprendente con otra fruta muy com\u00fan: la manzana. En el mundo de la bot\u00e1nica a esto se le llama &#8220;falso fruto&#8221; o pomo, pero de falso no tiene nada: es una forma evolucionada y sofisticada para garantizar la vida.<\/p>\n<h3>Huellas de la historia en cada bocado<\/h3>\n<p>Si observas una manzana con atenci\u00f3n, hay m\u00e1s por descubrir. \u00bfTe has fijado alguna vez en ese huequito arrugado que tiene en la base?
