Every day is an experiment!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Have you ever felt a mysterious force pinning you against the side of a spinning teacup at an amusement park, or felt yourself leaning outward as a car takes a sharp turn? It\u2019s that &#8220;whoa!&#8221; moment where you instinctively brace yourself. Believe it or not, there is a &#8220;ghostly force&#8221; in our world that appears simply because the spot where you are standing is rotating.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, I streamed an <a href=\"https:\/\/phys-edu.net\/wp\/?p=36112\">online lesson on Uniform Circular Motion<\/a>, a fundamental concept in physics. In that lesson, I used a rotating table to explain the mechanics of circular movement. But today, I\u2019m taking it a step further. By watching whether the spring stretches or stays still, we can visually confirm if a force is at play.<\/p>\n<p>To make things interesting, I focused on the &#8220;difference in perspective&#8221;:<\/p>\n<p>A camera standing perfectly still outside the table (Stationary Frame).<\/p>\n<p>A camera spinning right along with the table (Rotating Frame).<\/p>\n<p>By recording these two perspectives simultaneously and comparing them side-by-side, we can uncover the true nature of one of physics&#8217; great mysteries: &#8220;Centrifugal Force.&#8221; After a lot of trial and error, I finally captured the perfect footage. In physics terms, it is constantly being pulled toward the center by a &#8220;centripetal force,&#8221; which keeps it on its curved path. From the perspective of the rotation, the moment the table starts spinning, a &#8220;mysterious force pulling outward&#8221; acts on the weight, causing the spring to stretch further and further.<\/p>\n<h3>Centrifugal Force: Inertia in Disguise<\/h3>\n<p>This outward-pulling sensation is what we call Centrifugal Force. In reality, someone watching from the outside cannot see this force. That\u2019s because centrifugal force is a &#8220;fictitious force&#8221; that only exists for the person doing the spinning.<\/p>\n<p>Its true identity is actually Inertia. Objects have a natural tendency to keep moving in a straight line. When the platform underneath tries to force it into a curve, the weight essentially resists, as if saying, &#8220;But I want to go straight!&#8221; In a rotating world, that resistance manifests as an outward pull.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that the forces we perceive change depending on where we stand is one of the most fascinating and profound aspects of physics.
