Saippuakupla puolestaan koostuu saippuasta ja vedest\u00e4. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 vesi on avainasemassa. Vesimolekyylill\u00e4 (H_2O) on erikoinen muoto: vaikka se on kokonaisuutena neutraali, sen happipuoli (O) on hieman negatiivinen (-) ja vetypuoli (H) hieman positiivinen (+). T\u00e4t\u00e4 kutsutaan polaarisuudeksi.
