Pero, \u00bfalguna vez te has preguntado qu\u00e9 pasar\u00eda si les acercaras esa fuerza invisible que todos conocemos? S\u00ed, me refiero a la electricidad est\u00e1tica, esa que hace que se te erice el pelo o que suelte un chispazo cuando te quitas un jersey. Normalmente, las burbujas solo siguen la corriente de aire, pero \u00bfcambiar\u00eda su baile bajo el efecto de la est\u00e1tica? \u00bfReaccionar\u00edan igual que tu cabello cuando le acercas una regla de pl\u00e1stico? \u00a1Solo de imaginarlo dan ganas de probarlo! Sin embargo, las burbujas se acercan. Son movimientos totalmente opuestos. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 ocurre esta diferencia tan curiosa?La ciencia detr\u00e1s: El secreto de la atracci\u00f3nAl frotar el globo con la toalla, generamos electricidad est\u00e1tica. Por lo general, materiales como el caucho o el vinilo (del globo) tienden a robar electrones de la lana o el algod\u00f3n, qued\u00e1ndose con una carga negativa (-).Por otro lado, las burbujas est\u00e1n hechas de jab\u00f3n y, sobre todo, de agua. Y aqu\u00ed est\u00e1 la clave: el agua. La mol\u00e9cula de agua ($H_2O$) tiene una forma muy especial. Aunque en su conjunto es neutra, dentro de la propia mol\u00e9cula el lado del ox\u00edgeno (O) es ligeramente negativo (-) y el lado del hidr\u00f3geno (H) es ligeramente positivo (+). A esto lo llamamos polaridad. A esto se le llama inducci\u00f3n electrost\u00e1tica (t\u00e9cnicamente, polarizaci\u00f3n diel\u00e9ctrica). Como la parte positiva est\u00e1 m\u00e1s cerca del globo que la negativa, la fuerza de atracci\u00f3n es mayor que la de repulsi\u00f3n. \u00a1Por eso la burbuja sale disparada hacia el globo!Entonces, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 la mariposa de papel escapa?La diferencia est\u00e1 en c\u00f3mo se comportan los materiales. En el caso de la mariposa de papel, al tocar (o estar muy cerca) del objeto cargado, los electrones saltan directamente al papel. As\u00ed, la mariposa adquiere la misma carga negativa que el globo. Y como bien sabes, las cargas iguales se repelen, igual que ocurre con los polos de los imanes. Por eso la mariposa huye, mientras que la burbuja, donde los electrones no saltan sino que solo se reordenan, se queda pegada. \u00a1La ciencia es incre\u00edble!\u00a1Experimentos extremos con generadores de est\u00e1tica!Si subimos la potencia de la electricidad est\u00e1tica, los resultados son espectaculares.
