Solo necesitamos \u00e1cido c\u00edtrico y bicarbonato de sodio, ingredientes comunes para la limpieza o la cocina. Aunque ambos son polvos blancos, notar\u00e1s que el bicarbonato es muy fino y suave, mientras que el \u00e1cido c\u00edtrico es un poco m\u00e1s granulado. Asom\u00e9monos un momento al mundo de las mol\u00e9culas. Primero, el \u00e1cido c\u00edtrico (C\u2086H\u2088O\u2087) es, como dice su nombre, una sustancia \u00e1cida. Tiene tres grupos carboxilo (<span class=\"math-inline\" data-math=\"-COOH\" data-index-in-node=\"19\">-COOH<\/span>) en su estructura.<\/p>\n<p>Por otro lado, el bicarbonato de sodio (NaHCO\u2083) act\u00faa como una base (alcalino).<\/p>\n<p>Cuando el bicarbonato se disuelve en agua, se separa en iones de sodio e iones de bicarbonato. Es en este momento cuando nacen las burbujas: no son m\u00e1s que di\u00f3xido de carbono (CO\u2082), el mismo gas que exhalamos al respirar. Cuando el \u00e1cido c\u00edtrico y el bicarbonato reaccionan para crear CO\u2082, necesitan energ\u00eda para hacerlo y la toman de su alrededor. Por eso, tu mano o el recipiente se enfr\u00edan r\u00e1pidamente.<\/p>\n<p>Al igual que el hielo te refresca porque absorbe el calor de tu mano para derretirse, las mol\u00e9culas tambi\u00e9n mueven energ\u00eda cuando cambian sus enlaces.
