Estos electrones viajan a decenas de mil kil\u00f3metros por hora hasta chocar contra la pantalla. Al impactar, hacen que el material fosforescente brille, y es as\u00ed como logramos ver las im\u00e1genes.<\/p>\n<p>Podr\u00edamos decir que es un puntillismo de luz dibujado por granos de electrones. Es sorprendente pensar que, en el pasado, cualquier hogar ten\u00eda un aparato capaz de manipular part\u00edculas microsc\u00f3picas, algo que normalmente solo ver\u00edas en un laboratorio de f\u00edsica.<\/p>\n<p>Hoy quiero mostrarles un experimento nost\u00e1lgico y emocionante con uno de estos televisores. Si todav\u00eda tienen uno a mano, intenten imaginar c\u00f3mo funciona mientras leen esto. El experimento se titula: \u00bfQu\u00e9 pasa si acercamos un im\u00e1n a un televisor de tubo?<\/p>\n<h3>El baile de electrones e imanes: el secreto de la distorsi\u00f3n<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 sucede exactamente cuando acercamos un im\u00e1n a la pantalla? En 1926, lo primero que se proyect\u00f3 en un tubo de rayos cat\u00f3dicos en el mundo fue el car\u00e1cter japon\u00e9s \u30a4 (i). En una \u00e9poca donde predominaban los sistemas mec\u00e1nicos, este m\u00e9todo de controlar electrones fue una invenci\u00f3n revolucionaria.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1s tarde, en 1953, la NHK comenz\u00f3 sus emisiones y la televisi\u00f3n se convirti\u00f3 en un tesoro indispensable en todos los hogares. Si hoy podemos disfrutar de im\u00e1genes n\u00edtidas en nuestros m\u00f3viles o pantallas LCD, es gracias a esta larga historia de perfeccionamiento tecnol\u00f3gico para domar electrones con imanes.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfLas auroras boreales tambi\u00e9n son obra de la Fuerza de Lorentz?<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Lo m\u00e1s fascinante es que este fen\u00f3meno de electrones desviados por imanes tambi\u00e9n ocurre a escala c\u00f3smica. Las part\u00edculas cargadas que viajan desde el Sol son atrapadas por el campo magn\u00e9tico de la Tierra. Gracias a la Fuerza de Lorentz, son guiadas hacia los polos norte y sur, donde chocan con la atm\u00f3sfera y emiten esa luz m\u00e1gica que conocemos como auroras polares.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>En resumen, lo que sucede dentro de un viejo televisor sigue el mismo principio que las majestuosas auroras del espacio. \u00bfNo les parece que, visto as\u00ed, ese televisor antiguo se vuelve un poco m\u00e1s m\u00edstico?
