Supe de esto gracias a un art\u00edculo de Lifehacker (Jap\u00f3n) llamado &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifehacker.jp\/2016\/04\/160424cat_jump1.html\">La raz\u00f3n por la que los gatos siempre caen de pie, incluso desde gran altura<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Al ver el v\u00eddeo, queda claro que los gatos usan sus cuerpos de una forma incre\u00edblemente h\u00e1bil para <b>&#8220;absorber el impacto&#8221;<\/b> del aterrizaje. Pero, \u00bfqu\u00e9 significa exactamente &#8220;absorber el impacto&#8221;?<\/p>\n<p>\u00a1Hoy vamos a descifrar juntos esta s\u00faper t\u00e9cnica felina desde la perspectiva de la <b>f\u00edsica de instituto<\/b> (bachillerato), usando los conceptos de &#8220;cantidad de movimiento&#8221; e &#8220;impulso&#8221;!<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a1Descifrando el &#8220;s\u00faper aterrizaje&#8221; felino con f\u00edsica de instituto!<\/h3>\n<p>En f\u00edsica, el &#8220;\u00edmpetu&#8221; de un objeto en movimiento se expresa con el t\u00e9rmino <b>&#8220;cantidad de movimiento&#8221; (o momento lineal)<\/b>. Esto se determina multiplicando la <b>&#8220;masa&#8221; por la &#8220;velocidad&#8221;<\/b>. Un gato que cae desde un lugar alto tiene una gran &#8220;cantidad de movimiento&#8221; justo antes de tocar el suelo.<\/p>\n<p>Aterrizar significa reducir esta &#8220;cantidad de movimiento&#8221; a &#8220;cero&#8221; en un instante.<\/p>\n<p>Para detener un objeto (cambiar su cantidad de movimiento), se necesita algo llamado <b>&#8220;impulso&#8221;<\/b>. El &#8220;impulso&#8221; se calcula como <b>&#8220;Fuerza \u00d7 Tiempo&#8221;<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Si llamamos F a la fuerza que el gato recibe del suelo y t al tiempo que sus patas est\u00e1n en contacto con el suelo, tenemos la siguiente relaci\u00f3n:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">mv\u3000\u2212\u3000Ft = 0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">(Cantidad de movimiento inicial) &#8211; (Impulso) = (Cantidad de movimiento final. Es 0 porque se detiene)<\/p>\n<p>Si reordenamos la f\u00f3rmula, queda as\u00ed:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Ft = mv<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(Impulso = Cantidad de movimiento inicial)<\/p>\n<p>Aqu\u00ed est\u00e1 el punto clave. La &#8220;cantidad de movimiento (mv)&#8221; que el gato debe anular para aterrizar de forma segura est\u00e1 determinada por la altura desde la que cay\u00f3; eso no se puede cambiar. Entonces, \u00bfqu\u00e9 pasar\u00eda si el gato aterrizara <b>\u00a1de golpe!<\/b> en un instante (con un tiempo <b>t<\/b> muy peque\u00f1o)? Dado que &#8220;Ft = (cantidad de movimiento constante)&#8221;, si <b>t<\/b> es diminuto, la fuerza <b>F<\/b> sobre sus patas se volver\u00eda \u00a1enorme! Esa es la verdadera naturaleza del &#8220;impacto&#8221;, y es lo que causa lesiones graves como las fracturas.<\/p>\n<h3>La incre\u00edble t\u00e9cnica del gato para &#8220;ganar tiempo&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>Entonces, \u00bfqu\u00e9 hace el gato?
