Pero seamos sinceros, ver solo un dibujo en un libro de texto hace que sea dif\u00edcil sentir realmente el movimiento de esa inmensa energ\u00eda que ocurre bajo tierra. Pens\u00e9: &#8220;\u00a1Si los estudiantes pudieran experimentar este din\u00e1mico fen\u00f3meno del &#8216;deslizamiento del suelo&#8217; con sus propias manos y sobre sus propios escritorios, su comprensi\u00f3n y fascinaci\u00f3n se disparar\u00edan!&#8221;. Con esa idea, comenz\u00f3 el desarrollo de un modelo experimental. Y lo mejor de todo es que el concepto central era: <strong>&#8220;Que cualquiera pueda hacerlo f\u00e1cilmente con materiales de una tienda de 100 yenes&#8221;<\/strong>. Acomp\u00e1\u00f1ame en esta peque\u00f1a historia de desarrollo para acercar a todos la espectacular actividad de nuestro planeta.<\/p>\n<h3>[Historia Secreta del Desarrollo] La chispa de la idea y la cinta de carrocero, nuestra salvadora<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Lo primero que hice fue dirigirme a ese tesoro de ideas: la tienda de 100 yenes. All\u00ed me encontr\u00e9 con estos <strong>ladrillos de poliestireno (de Daiso)<\/strong>. Parec\u00eda que ya ten\u00edamos la forma, pero surgi\u00f3 un gran problema: la fricci\u00f3n entre las piezas de poliestireno era demasiado fuerte y las &#8220;capas&#8221; no se deslizaban con suavidad. En particular, el movimiento de la &#8220;falla inversa&#8221;, donde las capas son empujadas hacia arriba, se enganchaba con un chirrido (gigigi&#8230;) y no se pod\u00eda replicar bien.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">&#8220;Esto no se parece en nada a un movimiento geol\u00f3gico real&#8230; \u00bfQu\u00e9 puedo hacer?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Mientras le daba vueltas a la cabeza, mi mirada se pos\u00f3 en algo que estaba por ah\u00ed: la &#8220;cinta de carrocero&#8221; (cinta adhesiva de enmascarar). \u00bfPodr\u00eda hacer que fuera m\u00e1s resbaladizo? La pegu\u00e9 a la superficie de la falla y&#8230; \u00a1zas! La superficie real de una falla no es una roca lisa y pulida. Es una mezcla de \u00e1reas que est\u00e1n firmemente &#8220;pegadas&#8221; o bloqueadas, conocidas como <strong>&#8220;asperezas&#8221;<\/strong>, y otras partes que son relativamente m\u00e1s resbaladizas. Un terremoto ocurre cuando estas asperezas llegan a su l\u00edmite y se rompen de golpe (desliz\u00e1ndose).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">En nuestro caso, la cinta de carrocero asumi\u00f3 el papel de esa &#8220;parte resbaladiza&#8221;. Sin esa suavidad, el modelo simplemente se habr\u00eda atascado. Esto reduce un poco la fuerza de fricci\u00f3n, facilitando el movimiento.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a1Y ya est\u00e1! Ver\u00e1s c\u00f3mo el bloque superior se desliza hacia abajo a lo largo de la grieta. Por ejemplo, se ve en las &#8220;dorsales oce\u00e1nicas&#8221;, donde se forman nuevas placas que se extienden hacia los lados, o en el &#8220;Gran Valle del Rift&#8221; de \u00c1frica, donde un continente est\u00e1 siendo activamente desgarrado.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#x1f4cc; <\/span><strong>Experimento 2: Falla Inversa [La Tierra que se Comprime]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Ahora, por el contrario, aplica una &#8220;fuerza de compresi\u00f3n&#8221; empujando el modelo desde ambos lados. Observar\u00e1s un movimiento en el que el bloque superior es empujado hacia arriba, como si se montara sobre el bloque inferior. Suceden cuando una placa proveniente del oc\u00e9ano intenta deslizarse por debajo de la placa que soporta el archipi\u00e9lago japon\u00e9s, lo que somete a la corteza terrestre a una intensa compresi\u00f3n. Cordilleras escarpadas como los Alpes japoneses son prueba del dinamismo de la Tierra, habi\u00e9ndose formado por la repetici\u00f3n de este movimiento de falla inversa durante millones de a\u00f1os que ha elevado (o levantado) el terreno.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">El costo es sorprendentemente bajo: \u00a1apenas <strong>un poco m\u00e1s de 100 yenes por set<\/strong>! Con esto, cada estudiante de la clase puede tener su propia &#8220;micropalla&#8221; y aprender moviendo las manos de verdad.
