Nos alegra a los profesores ver el brillo en los ojos de los estudiantes y escuchar la exclamaci\u00f3n de &#8220;\u00a1Lo tengo!&#8221;. Recientemente, estaba dando una clase sobre &#8220;Volcanes&#8221; con la profesora H, quien acababa de terminar sus pr\u00e1cticas de ense\u00f1anza, y el experimento de erupci\u00f3n que realizamos fue un momento que despert\u00f3 una gran curiosidad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;\u00bfC\u00f3mo se relaciona la viscosidad del magma con la forma del volc\u00e1n?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>La diversi\u00f3n de la ciencia no est\u00e1 solo en memorizar conocimientos de un libro de texto, sino en &#8220;ver, tocar y experimentar&#8221; por uno mismo. Por eso, decidimos que los estudiantes crearan su propio modelo de erupci\u00f3n volc\u00e1nica utilizando materiales cotidianos. Este experimento, aunque parezca simple a primera vista, \u00a1es en realidad bastante profundo!<\/p>\n<p>Los materiales que utilizamos son solo cuatro: yeso, bicarbonato de sodio, pegamento l\u00edquido (PVA) y agua. Al cambiar ligeramente la &#8220;proporci\u00f3n de la mezcla&#8221; de estos cuatro materiales, el movimiento y la viscosidad del magma cambian por completo. Es una experiencia que simula la actividad volc\u00e1nica real.<\/p>\n<p>Lo que resulta especialmente interesante es la reacci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica que ocurre al combinar yeso (sulfato de calcio: CaSO\u2084), bicarbonato de sodio (bicarbonato de sodio: NaHCO\u2083) y agua. Como muchos sabr\u00e1n, \u00a1se genera di\u00f3xido de carbono (CO\u2082)! La forma en que el volumen de la mezcla se hincha lentamente debido a este di\u00f3xido de carbono es como la lenta expansi\u00f3n de un volc\u00e1n real antes de una erupci\u00f3n. Darse cuenta de que estas reacciones qu\u00edmicas cotidianas est\u00e1n conectadas con fen\u00f3menos naturales tan grandiosos es la verdadera esencia de la educaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica.<\/p>\n<p>Junto con la profesora en pr\u00e1cticas, repetimos el experimento varias veces, cambiando las proporciones una y otra vez, hasta que encontramos la receta perfecta, el momento de &#8220;\u00a1Aj\u00e1, esto podr\u00eda funcionar!&#8221;. Fue un momento en el que volvimos a sentir lo que realmente significa la exploraci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica. Adem\u00e1s, el bicarbonato de sodio a veces puede estar compactado, as\u00ed que aseg\u00farese de desmenuzarlo con una esp\u00e1tula.<\/p>\n<p>\u2464 Cierre la tapa del recipiente de pl\u00e1stico, col\u00f3quelo boca abajo sobre la bandeja y retire inmediatamente la cinta adhesiva pegada.<br \/>\n\u2465 Observe de cerca la propagaci\u00f3n de la soluci\u00f3n (lava) mirando el modelo de lava directamente desde arriba.<\/p>\n<p>\u203b \u00a1Los experimentadores deben usar guantes de polietileno! \u00a1Todos deben usar batas de laboratorio y gafas de seguridad!<\/p>\n<p>Realizamos este procedimiento para los casos de alta y baja viscosidad. erupci\u00f3n?\u3011<\/b><\/p>\n<p>La clave de este experimento es la reacci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica entre el yeso, el bicarbonato de sodio y el agua.<\/p>\n<p><b>Generaci\u00f3n de di\u00f3xido de carbono por descomposici\u00f3n del bicarbonato:<\/b> El bicarbonato de sodio (NaHCO\u2083), al disolverse en agua, se descompone parcialmente para producir iones carbonato (CO\u2083\u00b2\u207b) y polivin\u00edlico (PVA) contenido en el pegamento, al disolverse en agua, forma mol\u00e9culas largas que se entrelazan y presentan una alta viscosidad. Este PVA juega el papel de atrapar las burbujas de di\u00f3xido de carbono generadas. Esto simula una &#8220;erupci\u00f3n viscosa&#8221;, donde las burbujas no se liberan de golpe, sino que el material se expande lentamente y luego erupciona.
