Si buscas una forma m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil y dram\u00e1tica de experimentar la fuerza de la presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica, este &#8220;experimento de levantar la mesa con una carpeta&#8221; es perfecto. El protagonista de este fen\u00f3meno es el peso del aire que envuelve la Tierra, es decir, la &#8220;presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica&#8221;. Normalmente, la carpeta tiene la misma presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica actuando tanto por arriba como por abajo, por lo que las fuerzas se equilibran. Sin embargo, al colocar la carpeta firmemente sobre la mesa, se expulsa el aire que hay entre ellas, haciendo que la fuerza del aire desde abajo sea pr\u00e1cticamente nula.<\/p>\n<p>Como resultado, es como si una gigantesca columna de aire estuviera presionando solo desde la parte superior de la carpeta. Como esta fuerza invisible es tan poderosa, la carpeta se adhiere firmemente a la mesa, y al intentar levantarla, \u00a1se levanta toda la mesa!<\/p>\n<p>Este mismo principio explica por qu\u00e9 podemos beber con un popote (o pajita) y por qu\u00e9 una ventosa se pega con tanta fuerza a una pared. Nuestro entorno est\u00e1 lleno de maravillas creadas por la presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n<p>Ciencia y Matem\u00e1ticas: \u00a1Calculemos la Fuerza de la Presi\u00f3n Atmosf\u00e9rica!<br \/>\nEntonces, \u00bfcu\u00e1nta fuerza act\u00faa exactamente sobre esta carpeta de tama\u00f1o B5 (182 mm \u00d7 257 mm)? \u00a1Vamos a calcularlo para que te asombres!<\/p>\n<p>Asumiremos que la presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica a nivel del suelo es de aproximadamente <span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong>1000 hPa (hectopascales)<\/strong><\/span>. Esto significa que se aplica una fuerza de aproximadamente 100,000 N (Newtons) por cada metro cuadrado. La f\u00f3rmula es la siguiente:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">F(Fuerza)=P(Presi\u00f3n)\u00d7S(\u00c1rea)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">F=100000Pa\u00d70.182m\u00d70.257m\u22484677N<\/p>\n<p>Al convertir esta fuerza de 4677 N a peso, \u00a1equivale a nada menos que unos 467 kgf (kilogramos-fuerza)! Esto es el equivalente al peso de tres luchadores de sumo, o el de una vaca peque\u00f1a. \u00bfPuedes creer que una fuerza tan descomunal est\u00e9 actuando sobre una simple carpeta? Nuestro propio cuerpo tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 constantemente sostenido por esta fuerza invisible.<\/p>\n<p>Ideas para un Aprendizaje Avanzado<br \/>\nCalculemos esta asombrosa fuerza en escalas a\u00fan m\u00e1s cercanas a nosotros.<\/p>\n<ul>\n\u00a0\t<\/p>\n<li>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la fuerza del aire que act\u00faa sobre la palma de tu mano (aprox. 15 cm \u00d7 10 cm)? \u00a1El c\u00e1lculo es de aproximadamente 150 kgf! En realidad, hay una fuerza equivalente al peso de un adulto sobre la palma de tu mano en todo momento.<\/li>\n<p>\u00a0\t<\/p>\n<li>\u00bfY sobre la u\u00f1a de tu dedo \u00edndice (aprox. 1 cm\u00b2)? Es de aproximadamente 1 kgf. Imagina tener un cart\u00f3n de leche de 1 litro reposando sobre tu u\u00f1a.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda ser interesante utilizar materiales did\u00e1cticos como el <span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">&#8220;Gomu-Pita-kun&#8221; de Narika<\/span>.
