Este gas es la estrella de hoy: el hidr\u00f3geno. Esta reacci\u00f3n se representa en el mundo de la qu\u00edmica de la siguiente manera:<\/p>\n<p>Zn (\u4e9c\u925b) + 2HCl (\u5869\u9178) \u27f6 ZnCl\u2082 (\u5869\u5316\u4e9c\u925b) + H\u2082 (\u6c34\u7d20)<\/p>\n<p>Al disolverse el zinc en el \u00e1cido clorh\u00eddrico, se transforma en una sustancia llamada cloruro de zinc, y al mismo tiempo, se libera el hidr\u00f3geno.<\/p>\n<p>El hidr\u00f3geno generado se recolecta en otro tubo de ensayo mediante un m\u00e9todo llamado desplazamiento de agua. (\u00a1Ojo! Utiliza el segundo tubo de ensayo, ya que el primero podr\u00eda contener aire mezclado). \u00a1Aqu\u00ed va un acertijo! \u00bfQu\u00e9 crees que suceder\u00e1 cuando acerquemos la llama?<\/p>\n<p>La respuesta es&#8230; \u00a1Se quemar\u00e1 con un peque\u00f1o sonido de explosi\u00f3n: un &#8220;\u00a1Pop!&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p>Esto es la prueba de que el hidr\u00f3geno ha reaccionado violentamente (combusti\u00f3n) con el ox\u00edgeno del aire, transform\u00e1ndose en agua (H\u2082O). El sonido es una &#8220;mini-explosi\u00f3n&#8221; que ocurre porque la energ\u00eda de la reacci\u00f3n hace que el aire circundante se expanda instant\u00e1neamente. En el experimento de ox\u00edgeno no hubo cambios con el agua de cal, pero \u00bfqu\u00e9 pasar\u00e1 ahora? &#8230;Lo m\u00e1s probable es que no observes ning\u00fan cambio. Sabemos que el agua de cal se enturbia solo en presencia de di\u00f3xido de carbono, lo que nos confirma que el hidr\u00f3geno y el ox\u00edgeno tienen propiedades diferentes.<\/p>\n<p>Profundizando en la ciencia: El misterio del zinc<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Usamos &#8220;zinc en forma de flor&#8221;. La verdad es que la facilidad con la que se genera hidr\u00f3geno cambia radicalmente seg\u00fan la forma del zinc. Si es el mismo elemento, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 ocurre esto?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u00a1La pista es la &#8220;superficie de contacto&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Imagina, por ejemplo, un terr\u00f3n de az\u00facar y az\u00facar en polvo. \u00bfCu\u00e1l se disolver\u00e1 m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido en agua? El az\u00facar en polvo, \u00bfverdad? Esto se debe a que el az\u00facar en polvo tiene un \u00e1rea de contacto (o superficie de contacto) mucho mayor con el agua.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Aplicando el mismo principio, el zinc en forma de flor, con su forma compleja, tiene una superficie de contacto mucho m\u00e1s grande con el \u00e1cido clorh\u00eddrico que los gr\u00e1nulos de zinc lisos. Esto permite que se produzcan m\u00e1s reacciones, generando hidr\u00f3geno vigorosamente. \u00a1Pensar en estos &#8220;porqu\u00e9s&#8221; es la esencia de la ciencia! Despu\u00e9s del experimento, el zinc pierde su brillo superficial y se vuelve negruzco. Esto sucede porque el zinc se disuelve o se forma otra sustancia en la superficie.
