Vetyperoksidi hajoaa luonnostaan vedeksi ja hapeksi, mink\u00e4 vuoksi sit\u00e4 s\u00e4ilytet\u00e4\u00e4n j\u00e4\u00e4kaapissa. Ilman apuaineita reaktio on kuitenkin tuskastuttavan hidas. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 kokeessa k\u00e4yt\u00e4mme kaliumjodidia, joka saa hapen vapautumaan salamannopeasti, jolloin syntyy valtava m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 vaahtoa. Kaliumjodidi toimii katalyyttin\u00e4, eli se potkaisee vetyperoksidin hajoamisreaktion vauhtiin kertaheitolla. T\u00e4m\u00e4 koe ei ole vain hienon n\u00e4k\u00f6inen, vaan se opettaa konkreettisesti reaktiol\u00e4mm\u00f6st\u00e4 ja katalyyttien toiminnasta.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>N\u00e4in koe tehtiin k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6ss\u00e4<\/h2>\n<p>Kokeilimme kolmea eri variaatiota:<\/p>\n<h3>1. 50 ml vetyperoksidia ja 3 rkl kaliumjodidia liuotettuna 50 ml:aan l\u00e4mmint\u00e4 vett\u00e4<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Mitataan 50 ml vetyperoksidia 500 ml:n erlenmeyerkolviin. Lis\u00e4t\u00e4\u00e4n joukkoon loraus astianpesuainetta (ja halutessasi elintarvikev\u00e4ri\u00e4 tuomaan v\u00e4ri\u00e4).
